Børge Mogensen "Sled Chair" and ottoman for Fredericia Stolefabrik, Denmark, 1960s
This pair of Børge Mogensen model 2256 lounge chairs and ottomans was designed in 1956 for Fredericia Stolefabrik — the Danish workshop where many of Mogensen’s most iconic designs took shape.
Crafted from solid oak with finger joints, the chairs feature Mogensen’s signature balance of clean lines and soft curves. Often referred to as the “sled chair” due to the distinctive sled base, this compact model is a refined example of Danish Modern design.
Included are matching footstools, and cushions are newly upholstered in luxurious alpaca fabric — adding a tactile richness to the minimalist form. A timeless set that blends comfort, craftsmanship, and Scandinavian elegance. ‘
