Sideboard "Lövåsen" by Åby Möbelfabrik, Sweden, 1940s

A rare sideboard produced by Åby Möbelfabrik in Sweden during the 1940s. The model “Lövåsen” belongs to the sportstugemöbel (cabin furniture) tradition — known for its functional simplicity, sturdy construction, and use of natural materials.

Crafted in pine with a warm, even tone and clearly visible grain. The sideboard rests on a sculptural trestle base with splayed, profiled legs connected by a stretcher, giving the piece a distinct handcrafted expression. The two front doors are fitted with black wrought-iron hinges and key plates, continuing the artisanal character typical of the series.

An excellent example of Swedish cabin furniture — a design tradition where simplicity and craftsmanship converge. Ideal for interiors that embrace natural materials, understated form, and the timeless qualities of Swedish Modern..
