Table Lamp "Argenta" by Wilhelm Kåge, Gustavsberg, Sweden, 1940s

Large ceramic table lamp from Wilhelm Kåge's celebrated Argenta series. Decorated with an underwater motif, one side depicting a female figure riding a fish, the other featuring a starfish and a jellyfish. A striking model with the deep green glaze that defines the series.

Introduced at the Stockholm Exhibition in 1930, the Argenta series became one of Wilhelm Kåge's most recognized and enduring bodies of work. Its combination of rich green glaze and silver decoration established it as one of Gustavsberg's most successful decorative stoneware collections.
